POTTERY

My desire to create pottery runs deeper than just my enjoyment of hands-on art, it revolves around my faith. There is a bible verse where God tells us "Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand." (Jeremiah 18:6) That idea has always had a special place in my heart. Each of us is unique in our own way, and we should all stay true to ourselves because our imperfections is part of what makes of who we are. Therefore, while I work to improve and refine my pottery skills, I find a sense of calmness remembering that slight imperfections bring distinct qualities and interest to each piece. I put my heart into every single piece and ultimately discover the function, beauty and personality hidden within the clay.
